These Terms of Service describe what to expect when you request a quote, book an appointment, make an upfront payment, or receive mobile repair services from JL Brake Service (“JL Brake Service,” “we,” or “us”). Please review them before booking. Your specific written quote, authorized repair details, and any disclosed booking conditions also apply.
1. About these terms
JL Brake Service is an owner-operated mobile brake repair business serving Peoria, Illinois, and qualifying nearby communities. These terms are intended to explain our standard process and do not replace the details of an individual quote, estimate, invoice, or written warranty.
2. Services and service area
Our published service menu focuses on disc-brake pads, brake rotors, brake calipers, and flexible brake hoses. We do not offer drum-brake repair, hard brake-line fabrication or replacement, or advanced ABS/electrical diagnosis as standard mobile services. Other work is not included unless we separately agree to it.
Service is generally scheduled in Peoria and qualifying nearby locations, roughly within 15 miles of Peoria. Availability depends on your address, vehicle, service requested, weather, parts, and a suitable work area. An online request is not a guarantee that we can accept every vehicle or repair.
3. Quotes, estimates, and authorization
Website menu prices describe labor and the local mobile visit for listed work. Replacement parts are separate unless your individual quote specifically includes them. Your vehicle identification, brake condition, and parts fitment must be confirmed before the final scope and total are approved.
Before starting paid work, we will explain the proposed repair, expected price, and parts involved and obtain your authorization consistent with applicable Illinois law. Additional repairs, rust-related difficulty, seized or broken hardware, specialty fitment, or unforeseen damage may affect the quoted scope or price. We will discuss the change and obtain any required additional authorization before proceeding.
Your estimate rights matter. Illinois law provides repair-estimate and approval protections. These terms do not waive any rights you have under the Illinois Automotive Repair Act or other applicable law.
4. Appointment booking and $40 upfront payment
A $40 upfront booking payment is requested to reserve an accepted appointment window and planned mobile trip. This is not an additional fee on top of your quoted total; it is credited toward the approved total when the scheduled service is completed. The remaining balance is due after the work is completed and checked, including a test drive when safe and appropriate.
Appointments are booked through Square when available. A time selected online may still require confirmation of the vehicle, repair, parts, address, and safe work conditions. Please provide accurate contact and vehicle details and be reachable before the visit.
5. Rescheduling, cancellations, and delays
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call or text 309-215-1599 as early as possible. Any refund, credit, or transfer of the $40 upfront payment for a customer-initiated cancellation will follow the cancellation conditions disclosed to you before payment and applicable law. We will not add an undisclosed cancellation or no-show charge.
If JL Brake Service must cancel an appointment before providing service, you may choose to reschedule or request a refund of the unused upfront booking payment. Weather, unsafe conditions, unavailable parts, traffic, prior-job delays, or unexpected vehicle conditions may require a new appointment time. We will communicate significant changes as promptly as reasonably possible.
6. Vehicle access and safe work locations
You must be authorized to request work on the vehicle and provide a safe, firm, reasonably level, off-street work area with sufficient room for lifting and servicing it. Service in an active traffic lane, an unsafe roadside location, or an unsuitable parking area may be declined.
We may pause, modify, reschedule, or decline a job if working conditions, severe corrosion, damaged lifting points, weather, or the vehicle's condition make mobile service unsafe or impractical. We will explain the concern and, where possible, suggest an appropriate next step.
7. Parts and pre-existing vehicle conditions
We can source suitable replacement parts or, when agreed in advance, consider compatible customer-supplied parts. All parts are subject to fitment and condition checks. If supplied parts are incorrect, damaged, incomplete, or unsuitable, we may decline to install them or request a revised appointment.
Brake symptoms can have multiple causes. A requested part replacement is not a promise that unrelated or previously undetected conditions will be resolved. We will communicate material findings that affect safety or the authorized repair. Any charges for additional diagnostic or repair work will be explained and authorized as required by law.
8. Payment, invoices, and financing
We will provide documentation of the completed repair, charges, and any applicable written warranty. Payments and appointment scheduling may be processed through Square. Where offered, Afterpay or another financing option is subject to the provider's eligibility requirements and separate terms; approval is not guaranteed.
Only amounts for authorized work and other legally permitted, previously disclosed charges will be collected. Tax, if applicable, will be reflected in your approved price or final invoice as required.
9. Workmanship, warranties, and repair concerns
We aim to perform authorized repairs carefully and to complete appropriate final checks. If you notice a concern after service, stop driving if the vehicle may be unsafe and contact us promptly so the issue can be reviewed.
Any specific warranty offered on labor or parts, including its duration, coverage, and limitations, will be provided in writing as required by applicable law. Manufacturer or supplier warranties may apply to certain parts. Customer-supplied parts may have different product-warranty coverage. Nothing in these terms removes rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
10. Website, messages, and personal information
Information on this website is general guidance, not a substitute for an inspection or individual repair estimate. Website descriptions, availability, and posted prices may be updated. Material changes to a specific accepted repair require the communication and authorization described above.
Information submitted through quote forms, messages, appointment tools, and payment providers is handled as explained in our Privacy Policy, along with any applicable provider terms.
11. Illinois consumer rights and updates
These terms are interpreted under applicable Illinois and United States law. No provision is intended to exclude consumer protections, repair-estimate rights, or remedies that law does not permit us to waive. If there is a conflict, applicable law controls.
We may revise these terms from time to time. The effective date shown at the top identifies this version. Changes do not retroactively change the agreed terms of a completed repair or an existing booking without appropriate notice and agreement.
12. Contact JL Brake Service
If you have questions about these terms, a quote, a booking payment, or a completed repair, contact JL Brake Service directly.
